Once a week I open a specially dedicated sketchbook and do a meditative piece, a small (5″x 5″) piece, any medium or combination of media, no plan to produce a salable piece, no time restrictions, no prior planning. Just grab something that appeals to me and go with it. Sometimes I am satisfied with a piece after 30 minutes. Sometimes hours go by without me noticing the passage of time.
