Wonderful artwork! Do you just gesso the panel before creating the artwork? Or does the wood need some kind of special sealing first so that the asid from the wood doesn’t affect the painting? Thank you.
Thank you. I first gesso the panel with a gesso designed for use with encaustic. It provides an absorbent surface to which the wax will adhere.
