I have had my iPad and several art-making apps for quite a while and have not spent time with them. Recently I acquired a third app, which gave me the incentive to play with all 3 of them. And I am hooked. The 3 apps are Art Studio, Art Rage, and Paper 53, and each is excellent. Here are a few of my recent paintings (do you call these paintings?)

Think Spring!
Winter is refusing to release its grip on us here in Minnesota….perhaps a few Spring-like images will be a welcome change from all the white, white, white surrounding us.
All are acrylic on canvas.
Amelia Series
I’m using this glorious week at the beach to begin a small (3) series of drawings on 10″ X 10″ canvasses. Gesso, water soluble pencil, pencil, matte medium. This is the start of SAND DOLLAR.
International Collage Exchange 2013
Yesterday I sent off my yearly packet of collages to New Zealand for inclusion in the International Collage Exchange.
Here are two of the 13. To see all 13 of the new pieces, click here.
Inspirations
I keep little arrangements around my studio of things I like…… items, textures, shapes, ideas. This arrangement is on one of the “uncluttered by collage papers” surfaces (there are very few of those). I love this photo, and and now formulating a Nest/Home series in my mind.
Aesthetic experience
“The arts especially address the idea of aesthetic experience. An aesthetic experience is one in which your senses are operating at their peak; when you’re present in the current moment; when you’re resonating with the excitement of this thing that you’re experiencing; when you are fully alive.”
― Ken Robinson
