Beach Tapestry

It seems like the right time to take a looser approach to these drawings, an approach that is more in keeping with my painting style. This piece began with no plan, just random marks made with soft graphite pencils, blending and mushing with fingers and a soft cloth and paper stomps, then more drawing as shapes began to come out.  When a beach began to appear, I picked up on that and pushed it further in that direction, moving back and forth between drawing and erasing.  This method definitely requires some good quality, tough paper.
