Pinecone Variations
5″x 7″ mixed media/collage on matboard
For these pieces, I began with a pen and ink drawing of a pine cone that I collected in the forest here on Pine Point.. I had the drawing reproduced, then cut, pasted, drew on, and reconfigured the elements to create new compositions on 5″x 7″ boards. Very fun and very relaxing.

Wow, that is creative and they came out so wonderful! Great idea. What kind of glue did you use on the prints so that you could work on top of them? Reminds me of Japanese Wood prints. Some pine branch drawings done like this would be lovely! Were the colored areas done with watercolors?

Thank you! I used a glue stick. The colored areas are mostly acrylic. Colored pencil in a few spots.
